Each year, New Hampshire Magazine and Castle Connolly seek nominations from residents of New Hampshire for which coctor is the best in their field of practice. Nominations for Top Doctor range from Neurology, Pediatrics and Surgical Care. This year, over 270 doctors within 55 specific fields who practice in New Hampshire were selected as Top Doctor for 2017. We are proud to share thatDr. Sonja Nelsonwas selected as Top Doctor for Obstetrics and Gynecology on the New Hampshire Seacoast.

“I am grateful to be named a Top Doctor by New Hampshire Magazine and their readers,” said Dr. Nelson. “Receiving this recognition has been a humbling experience, and I am thankful that the life-changing work I put forth each day has left significant meaning to those who thought of me for this award.”

A 20-year veteran in Obstetrics and Gynecology, Dr. Nelson has been a provider with Harbour Women’s health for four years. She completed her undergraduate degree and medical training at Tufts University and Tufts University School of Medicine. Dr. Nelson completed her post-doctoral training at the The New York Hospital, Cornell Medical Center, in the department of Obstetrics and Gynecology. Her career began in New York City where she collaborated with two Obstetricians that specialize in high-risk pregnancy. It was during this experience that Dr. Nelson came to enjoy caring for women throughout their unique circumstances. Over her 20 years of experiences, she has gained skills within reproductive endocrinology, high-risk OB patients, along with both major and minimally-invasive surgery.
